CADAC S-DIGITAL
January 2009—Cadac (www.cadac-sound.com) has announced Q2 2009 shipping for its much-anticipated S-Digital live theater desk, which reflects the surface architecture of Cadac's J-Type analog board, offering a familiar mix environment, but with the benefit of digital control. The board combines a low-latency proprietary High Speed Digital (HSD) communications system with a core busing system based around FPGAs with dedicated SHARC DSP devices within the DSP rack. This handles all input and output channels with fiber-optic or co-ax interfacing to the Stage Rack/preamps. A unique feature is scalability. Additional control surface frames can be brought in during rehearsals (for single- or multi-operator use) and then removed/relocated to reduce the mix footprint during performances.

CADAC S-DIGITAL
October 2006—Reflecting Cadac’s 20-plus-year history, the S-Digital features a surface architecture derived from the Cadac J-Type analog console. With key audio and control parameters accessible in under a button press, the Cadac S-Digital combines instant usability and familiarity with other Cadac hallmarks: superb sound, build quality, reliability and unrivaled return on investment. The S-Digital enters production in October, in a 72/64 base configuration.

CADAC S-DIGITAL
September 2006—Coming to this month's PLASA show is Cadac's S-Digital live theater desk. S-Digital's design reflects the surface architecture of Cadac's J-Type analog board, offering a familiar mix environment. More details will come after the show, but production is set to start next month. Also new is Cadac's Digital Series Stage Rack, combining the M16 remote-controlled mic amp and the X16 MADI Merge Unit for comprehensive multichannel audio distribution of analog and digital.

CADAC D16 DIGITAL MIX MATRIX
October 2005—The D16 provides a fully featured, 16x16 audio matrix designed as a stand-alone audio processor (for smaller-scale performances, fixed installations and broadcast/recording applications) or as an expansion mixer for existing consoles. It has 16 line-level analog I/Os, with each channel providing 4-band parametric EQ, high/lowpass filters, compression and gating dynamics control, plus adjustable level routing to 16 output mixes. The system can be controlled locally from the D16 front panel or via Cadac’s SAM software.

CADAC D16
May 2004—At NSCA, Cadac showed the prototype of its two-box digital mixer solution. The D16 is a 3U chassis providing a 16x16 matrix of 24/96 digital EQ and dynamics controlled from the company's SAM software and is compatible with all of the company's other consoles. The M16 is the companion 16-channel remote-controllable mic pre.

CADAC M20 REMOTE PREAMPS
November 2003—Cadac's M20 is a three-rackspace unit with 16 high-quality mic amplifiers. Each input features 50 dB of gain in 1dB steps; -20dB and 48V phantom power switches; and two electronically balanced XLR outputs, with a third balanced out on a 37-way “D”-type connector. All settings are adjustable from the front panel or three remote-control options: via a PC with SAM or M20 control, or using Cadac's RM20 dedicated remote controller.

CADAC S-TYPE CONSOLE
January 2003—The S-Type is a compact, entry-level live mixer with Cadac's high standards for performance and reliability. The board is offered in 17, 25 and 33-slot frame sizes and can be easily expanded via optional bus connectors. Users can mix and match input/output modules to custom-configure the console; for example, a standard 25-slot frame can be configured with 16 mono inputs, eight mono or stereo group outs (which include aux outputs, matrix outs and DC master faders) and an oscillator/comm module. Input channels feature 4-band parametric EQ (pre/post-insert–switchable) and 100mm P&G faders. The eight aux sends (two are stereo) are pre/post-fade-switchable, and a stereo line input channel is available. A typically configured 25-slot console is priced around $25,000.

CADAC R-TYPE TOURING CONSOLE
October 2000—Cadac's new lightweight console—a cost-efficient package designed for fast installation—the R-Type combines touring ruggedness with the legendary Cadac audio quality and reliability, and is configured in multiples of Cadac's new lightweight 24-slot frame. A typical configuration of the 41-bus R-Type provides 48 mono and four stereo inputs, a full output section plus dedicated LCR outputs with 16 DC Masters. A major benefit for rental companies is the ability to reconfigure the console exactly to match each tour's specification and budget—using Cadac's unique plug-anywhere modules.
