ALTO DIGAN SERIES EQUALIZERS
October 2006—DIGAN equalizers are available in 2x7 band, 2x14 band and 2x30 band configurations. All models may be set as a parametric EQ with variable Q-ratings. Time alignment and crossover control are available on the 2x30 version, while other models feature a selectable compressor. ALTO GHIBLI16FX
October 2006—Alto's new Ghibli mixer sets a new precedent in small format mixer design. Its 11x8x1" chassis offers 16 channels of mixing capability. 4 microphone inputs offer 3-bands of parametric EQ with a mid sweep, as well as a selectable preset Compressor/De-Esser and 100Hz rumble filter. 16 preset 24-bit DSP, which includes variable reverb to round out the feature set. The GHIBLI16FX has a retail of $189 and is available now from The Yorkville Group.


ALTO L SERIES MIXERS
June 2005—Alto showed its L Series of recording/live analog mixers, which feature an assignable USB port that can be set to either the main or sub 1/2 outputs for recording or routed to the main mix or channels 15/16 for playback. Clever!


ALTO PS5HA
March 2005—The Alto PS5HA molded speakers pack a 15-inch woofer, 1.75-inch compression driver and 500-watt bi-amping into an enclosure with fly points and 128dB SPL, but they are sized like competitive 12-inch models. Onboard 40-bit DSP processing handles crossover, 20-band EQ, multiband dynamics, delay/phase alignment and more.


ALTO ORIENT EXPRESS
January 2005—Unveiling at NAMM is Alto's Orient Express, a portable P.A. in a body that resembles a vintage locomotive. The top-end OEX 900 features 1,200 watts driving a 15-inch subwoofer and two satellites with dual 6.5-inch cone mids and a 1-inch compression driver/spherical horn for 122dB max SPLs. Also included are a 14-channel mixer (with 24-bit effects and dual 7-band EQs), three mics, speaker tripod stands and cables — which all store inside the unit. Other versions include options such as an MP3 player, wireless mics and a 560W model with 12-inch subwoofer. The satellites store atop the main body, and large wheels and a handle make for easy transport.


ALTO DRAGONFLY SERIES
May 2004—Distributed by ART, Alto's new Dragonfly Series powered 6- to 20-channel mixers have onboard digital amps. The 2x450-watts (into 4 ohms) PM16 is a svelte 18 pounds and retails at $749.
