DBX SHIPS DRIVERACK 4800
April 2005—The next generation of DriveRack processors, the DriveRack 4800 from dbx offers all of the familiar processing and a host of new algorithms, including Advanced Feedback Suppression (AFS™). The 4800's 96kHz processing engine and standard digital I/O extends bandwidth and reduces latency, while four analog and AES/EBU inputs with eight analog and AES/EBU outputs and an optional CobraNet™ card enhance versatility. Retail is $3,749.95.
DBX DRIVERACK 4800
March 2005—dbx's DriveRack 4800 has a 96kHz processing engine, four analog and AES/EBU inputs, eight analog and AES/EBU outputs, Harman HiQnet support and optional CobraNet interfacing. Features include DSP inserts on the I/Os, EQ, delay, dbx compression/limiting, bandpass and crossover filters, and a new ergonomic front panel with full-color screen.
DBX ZONEPRO 640, 641
January 2005—dbx Professional's new ZonePro 640 and 641 Digital Zone Processors feature proprietary AFS (Advanced Feedback Suppression). According to dbx, the 640 and the blank front panel 641 are the first system processors purpose-built to deliver DSP power to the background music market, but offer the same processing engine found in dbx's DriveRack products. ZonePro 640/641 offer EQ, dynamics processing, bandpass filtering and BGM functions such as priority override and ducking.
DBX DRIVERACK 480
January 2004—The DriveRack 480 from dbx Professional is the company's flagship, and can be used stand-alone, via PC or with the 480R DriveRack Remote, on which 32 instant-access buttons and 31 moving faders can control multiple units. Two slave models, the 481 and 482, lack front panel controls and offer a choice of XLR or Euroblock connectors. It features separate house and show input EQ with individual lockouts and dual RTAs for two of its four inputs that can be used for measurement mics.
DBX DRIVERACK PA
January 2004—dbx's DriveRack PA is a stand-alone, no-frills processor, offering graphic front-end EQ and 10 ms of transducer alignment delay. However, it has extras such as a classic dbx compressor, 120A Subharmonic Synthesizer, a dozen notch filters and a JBL/Crown setup Wizard. An RTA mic input, pink-noise generator and Auto-EQ with 28-band RTA make the DriveRack PA perfect for value-engineered installs or compact portable systems.
DBX DRIVERACK 260
January 2004—The newest dbx DriveRack for live sound, the DriveRack 260, picks up where the PA left off. Features include a full second of input delay for zone alignment, nine parametric input filters, PC control via DriveWare software or device control under SmaartLive. A line of five different wall-panel zone controllers can mount in standard electrical switch boxes and connect up to 1,000 feet away via Cat-5 cable. The 260 also has a full-time RTA for its pink noise and measurement mic input.
DBX DRIVERACK 220I
December 2003—Now shipping, the DriveRack® 220i from dbx Professional is a 2-in/2-out system processor. In addition to providing EQ, bandpass filters, matrix mixing, dynamics and delay functions required for loudspeaker control, the 220i also includes line/mic inputs (with phantom power), with de-essing, ducking and Advanced Feedback Suppression™. Setup/maintenance is handled from the front panel or a DriveWare PC-based GUI. Programs can be stored and recalled from the GUI, front panel or optional remote zone controllers that adjust output volume/mutes.
