ELECTRO-VOICE REV SYSTEM
November 2006—The new REV system (prices start at $1,890) from Electro-Voice (www.electrovoice.com) features detachable half-wave antennae and operates with synthesized PLL-agile UHF REV-S single and REV-D dual receivers over four frequency bands — 614 to 638 MHz, 650 to 674 MHz, 674 to 698 MHz and 722 to 746 MHz. Factory-set channel groups allow 16 systems to operate simultaneously in one frequency band. More than 950 possible channels are programmable in 25kHz steps across a 24MHz operating bandwidth. The receiver's LCD shows group, channel, diversity, label and setup. Advanced ClearScan automatic group and channel selection provide quick setup. REV offers four capsule options and two handheld body styles. REV-Link PC software enables remote monitoring, control and programming over a CAN bus connection through an E-V UCC-1 converter or E-V Netmax N8000.

ELECTRO-VOICE REV PROFESSIONAL WIRELESS

ELECTRO-VOICE RE410/RE510
July 2005—The TEC Award̵nominated Electro-Voice RE410 ($322.50) is a cardioid condenser design that's designed with a slight “air” band boost in the 5kHz to 10kHz range to add sheen without stridency. Also listing at $322.50 is the RE510, a supercardioid condenser model that includes an LF boost switch that tailors the mic for live use or a “flat” setting for studio applications. The switch is placed under the ball screen to avoid accidental switching. The company's top handheld dynamic is the N/D967, which has a neodymium alloy element for high output, a 50 to 13k Hz response and a supercardioid pattern for high gain before feedback. Like the RE510, the N/D967 features Electro-Voice's LF contour switch and carries a list of $322.50. All models have the company's Warm-Grip handles for reduced handling noise and a comfortable feel.

ELECTRO-VOICE RE410 HANDHELD CONDENSER MIC
March 2005—New from Electro-Voice is the RE410, a handheld condenser mic for lead vocal applications. The RE410 has a uniform cardioid pickup pattern for feedback rejection and isolation from loud onstage sources; specs include a 50-20k Hz response and 140dB maximum SPL handling. A multistage pop filter reduces plosives and breath noise, while a Memraflex™ hardened steel grille offers protection, and a Warm-Grip™ handle provides a comfortable feel and isolates handling noise.

ELECTRO-VOICE X-LINE
January 2005—The Electro-Voice X-Line comprises four application-specific enclosures: the Xvls and Xvlt primary enclosures, the Xfil for downfill coverage and the Xsub deep-bass system. The Xvls and Xvlt enclosures are similar, but have differing directional specifications — the Xvls covers 90°, and 120° for the Xvlt. Each enclosure is a three-way configuration comprising two 15-inch woofers in a vented box enclosure for the LF, two 8-inch neodymium drivers on a 90° horn for the mids and three 3-inch-diameter titanium-diaphragm compression drivers on a 90° horn for the HF. The Xfil complements the Xvls and Xvlt systems for near-field assignment with a wide 120°×40° vertical coverage angle. The Xsub is a high-output, dual 18-inch woofers, 1,200W subwoofer system. The Xlc full-bandwidth compact line array system employs a very efficient rigging system for the Xlc127+ main enclosure and the Xlc118 direct radiating subwoofer. The Xlc127+ is a three-way, tri-amped, axis-asymmetric design with a passive crossover for bi-amp operation. A single 12-inch transducer handles the LF and mid bass, while two 6.5-inch drivers in a vertical array handle the mid-frequency bandpass. There are twin compression drivers for the HF. The Xlc118 subwoofer employs a single 18-inch subwoofer.

ELECTRO-VOICE SbA760 SUBWOOFER
September 2004—The SbA760 powered sub from Electro-Voice is rated at 760 watts and comes with a stereo crossover and the company's 15-inch EVS15FR long-excursion/low-frequency driver. Used with E-V's new 12-inch SxA360 two-way active speaker, the sub extends acoustic output down to 40 Hz. The road-worthy enclosure is fitted with four rollers for a smooth ride and a scratchproof Futura™ coating.

ELECTRO-VOICE PLASMA SPEAKERS
June 2004—The Plasma speaker series from Electro-Voice comprises a 15-inch, two-way, bi-amped (550 plus 150 watts) Plasma P1 and the optional P2, a single 18-inch powered (800W) subwoofer. All use lightweight, no-fan, Class-H onboard amplification and premium E-V drivers, such as the EVX155 woofer and the ND6 HF driver with 3-inch diaphragm and 1.4-inch exit. A multi-angle cabinet allows use as a floor monitor or as a main system, and embedded “L” tracks and an optional Plasma Strong Arm offer numerous mounting possibilities.

ELECTRO-VOICE DX38
January 2004—Electro-Voice's Dx38 is the company-branded processor based on the Dynacord 244. It includes Real Acoustic Cluster Editor (RACE) software for controlling and programming the unit, which calculates and displays the free-field acoustical output when used with various E-V speaker products. Parameters can also be adjusted from the front panel controls. An optional RS-485 interface can be installed in place of the standard RS-232 port, allowing control over 650 feet of mic cable or six times that with Cat-5.

ELECTRO-VOICE XLC127+
July 2003—Electro-Voice's Xlc127+ is a tri-amped, three-way enclosure that uses two of the same compression drivers as its larger X-Line. Its asymmetrical design places a single-12 at one end, a pair of horn-loaded 6.5s at the other and a pair of NDym compression drivers on plane-wave generators down the center. The Xlc124 is the downfill version. The Xlc118 is a companion single-18 subwoofer designed to be flown in adjacent arrays or integrated at a 2:3 ratio.

In Studio mode, the low-end response is lifted, creating a versatile instrument mic.

ELECTRO-VOICE XLC
October 2002—The Electro-Voice XLC linear array series of loudspeakers provide superior performance in a compact, lightweight package. The XLC system is designed for use in groups of four or more cabinets. The XLC 127 is a three-way design with a 120°x7° coverage pattern that can be either tri-amped or bi-amped in two-way mode. ELECTRO-VOICE RE-1
July 2002—Electro-Voice's new fully programmable RE-1 Series Wireless Microphone System ($1,550, with handheld mic), expected to ship this fall, utilizes Advance ClearScan technology to automatically make frequency-agile selections of the best of 15 UHF channels for seamless mic performance. The dual-band compander RE-1, which operates in two frequency ranges (680 to 704 MHz, TV channels 49 through 52; 722 to 746 MHz on channels 56 through 59), also includes the handy SoundCheck mode that allows one live sound engineer to handle dropout/deadspot checks with a built-in, 1kHz audio test tone without needing a second engineer. Optionally, E-V N/DYM 767a Handheld Transmitters ($600/each) and Bodypack Transmitters ($520) can be added to the system. Also from the E-V family is Telex's FMR-1000 ($1,830 for handheld/bodypack Combo System), an almost identical wireless system to the RE-1 that is targeted at the sound contractor market.
