INNOVASON 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF SENSORY
April 2006—Digital console pioneers InnovaSon (www.innovason.com) celebrated the 10-year anniversary of Sensory, its first digital live board, and showed its new EtherSound-enabled Dio Core stage boxes for its current Sy40, Sy48 and Sy80 mixers.
INNOVASON DIO CORE
March 2006—New from InnovaSon is Dio Core, a modular, 64-channel, EtherSound-enabled stage box that's compatible with I/O modules using the company's Dio ES multichannel audio interface module. Usable with Sy80 and Sy48 digital consoles and/or as a remote I/O box for other EtherSound-enabled devices, the unit features up to 64 high-quality input/outputs, digitally processed bus and direct outputs for remote/stage locations, and multiple channels of AES-to-EtherSound or EtherSound-to-AES conversion.
INNOVASON OPTIONS
September 2006—InnovaSon celebrates 10 years since unveiling Sentury, the world's first live digital console in 1996, with a buy-back deal offering generous trade-ins on previous models. New are the EtherSound-enabled Dio Core remote I/O stage boxes for its current Sy40, Sy48 and Sy80 mixers. These feature up to 64 I/Os, digitally processed bus and direct outputs for remote/stage locations; additional Dio Core units or other EtherSound-enabled devices using standard Cat-5 Ethernet are also available.
INNOVASON DIO CORE
October 2005—Dio Core is the first modular 64-channel EtherSound-enabled stage box compatible with InnovaSon I/O modules using InnovaSon’s recently released Dio ES multichannel audio interface module. Dio Core can be used with InnovaSon Sy80 and Sy48 digital live mixing consoles and/or as a remote I/O box for other EtherSound-enabled devices. Dio Core features up to 64 I/Os; digitally processed bus and direct outputs for remote/stage locations; and additional Dio Core units or other EtherSound-enabled devices using standard Cat-5 EtherNet networking.
INNOVASON SY80
September 2005—InnovaSon’s Sy80 provides 80 inputs, 80 outputs and 48 mix buses operating at 48 kHz/24-bit, with 32- to 40-bit internal processing. Fader-per-channel architecture provides simultaneous access to all 80 channels. In addition to the motorized fader, each channel has a dedicated LED meter and Cue/Select/Mute buttons. A Channel Control section provides instant, dedicated control over channel settings, while a 15-inch retractable screen displays channel information. InnovaSon’s XFAD™ expansion fader combinations allow an engineer to group several sources for control under one input fader. The Sy80 is controlled by Sensoft 8 PC-compatible software for editing and archiving of up to 1,000 pages per show. Export and import functions allow file transfers from console to PC and vice versa.
INNOVASON SY48
September 2005—Housed in a compact package, InnovaSon’s Sy48 provides 64 channels with 48 local mic/line inputs, 16 local line inputs and 16 local line outputs for aux, inserts and bus sends. The Sy48 maintains InnovaSon’s fader-per-channel architecture, with Level Meter, Mute, Cue and Select buttons per channel. Faders are user-configurable as inputs, VCAs, groups, buses, aux, XFAD, matrix or crossfaders. Console features include a central control panel for channel parameters, 12-inch fold-down screens and stereo monitoring with PFL, AFL and APL (After Processing Level) listening on headphones or via allocated outputs. The Sy48 includes InnovaSon’s Sensoft management software, facilitating instant recall of console configurations; snapshot automation with manual or MIDI synchronization-enhanced Q/Page display and control for theater applications; and offline programming for show preparation.
INNOVASON SY48 DIGITAL CONSOLE
November 2004—A variant of the Sy40 console, the Sy48 is suited for mixing touring front of house or monitors and fixed installations. As a stand-alone console, the Sy48 is equipped with 64 channels with a total of 48 local inputs (32 mic, 16 line). The optional stage box moves 48 inputs to stage with 16 local mic/line inputs, while the LEM option (Local External Mix box) allows up to 64 local mic inputs. InnovaSon's operating system, Sensoft Version 9, adds a raft of new hardware control and software features.
INNOVASON STAGE BOX
July 2004—Designed to replace multicore snakes with a simple pair of coaxial cables, the InnovaSon Stage Box is an audio rack and transmission system featuring installed mic preamps, XLR connectors, 48V phantom power, phase reverse and converters in a self-contained rack. All Stage Box parameters are remote-controlled from the mixer and audio arrives through the aforementioned coaxial cables. The Stage Box also functions as a digital splitter, feeding two or three InnovaSon Sensory consoles. Only a small run of cable is analog, and all signals quickly come into the digital domain. Standard with the InnovaSon Grand Live and available as an option with other InnovaSon desks, the Stage Box is upgradable with space for adding extra input or output modules.
INNOVASON SY80
October 2003—The InnovaSON Sy80 digital console allows an unlimited number of inputs to be “stacked” beneath a single “development” fader for control by that fader, allowing the user to designate a “deployment” zone of faders anywhere on the console. Featuring 80 inputs, 80 outputs, 80 faders and 48 mix buses housed in a new chassis and weighing less than 176 pounds (80 kg.), the Sy80 combines an upgraded Sensoft 8 software with a new DSP module.
INNOVASON COMPACT SY40
January 2003—InnovaSon recently introduced its latest all-digital mixing console for live performance, the Compact Sy40. As with other InnovaSon consoles, the new Sy40 digital console consists of a control panel that connects to dedicated stage boxes via lightweight coaxial cables. Housed in the same chassis as the company’s Compact Live digital console, the Sy40 supports 40 inputs, 12 stereo mix buses and 16 outputs, including mono LCR masters. When linked to the InnovaSon Stage Box, the Sy40 is expandable with up to 72 inputs/48 outputs. The Sy40’s electronic I/O modules are compatible with the Compact Live, Essential Live and Large-Scale Live digital consoles, and each features a digital input-gain trim, 5- or 8-band parametric EQ and comprehensive dynamics control. Notch filters and delay processing functions are also available, with instant recall of all settings and comprehensive PFL and AFL monitoring throughout the signal path. Prices start at $41,000.
INNOVASON SENSORY LARGE-SCALE SERIES
September 2001—As with other Innova-Son consoles, the new Sensory Large Scale Series digital console comprises a control panel (the same as for the Sensory Live Series) that connects to dedicated stage boxes via lightweight, coaxial cables. The all-digital system supports up to 96 input channels, each of which features a digital input gain trim, 5- or 8-band parametric EQ, and comprehensive dynamics control. Notch filters and delay processing functions are also available, with instant recall of all settings and comprehensive PFL and AFL monitoring throughout the signal path. The output section includes an LCR master, 46 pre-mix bus and 20 matrix bus outputs, each equipped with 8-band parametric EQ, dynamics and delay functions, and individual level control. The Large Scale is also the first Innova-Son system to use the ergonomic Hierarchies Pre-Mix Architecture
