X2 DIGITAL WIRELESS
November 2007—The XDR95 24-bit wireless system from X2 Digital Wireless (www.x2digital wireless.com) comprises the bodypack XDT4 digital transmitter and rackmount XDR4 receiver. The incoming analog signal is converted to 24-bit digital, and then alternate samples are transmitted on two separate RF channels. This allows interpolation between adjacent samples to fill in any dropouts caused by interference from spread-spectrum devices. Response is said to be 10-20k Hz, with 118dB dynamic range. A similar system (XDR955) is also offered, featuring a handheld transmitter with a choice of interchangeable Audix OM3 or OM5 capsules.
