ACOUSTICS FIRST CORP.
June 2002—One of the most affordable all-in-one soundproofing solutions available is the Model 1014 Acoustakit ($398) from Acoustics First (www.acousticsfirst.com). It comes complete with enough foam, bass traps and patented binary array diffusers to handle any 10x14-foot desktop music production suite or small mixing room. Acoustakit includes the company's Cutting Wedge acoustical foam panels, a selection of its Bermuda Triangle Traps for bass control and original Art Diffusor panels. The kit, which ships in studio gray foam, comes with complete installation, room layout and technical documentation from the company's new full-time acoustician.

ACOUSTICS FIRST CORP. ART DIFFUSOR
July 2001—Acoustics First has redesigned its Art Diffusor Model E. The new Model E is made of EPS plastic and is based on the original Model W wood version. The diffuser is now manufactured with elements cut from discrete strips, a process that produces a solid unit and eliminates the internal cavity found in the earlier version. This provides performance characteristics that closely match those of the wood models, with no internal resonance, at a significantly less cost. The new models are available in painted “MultiSpec” finish and are also available in a range of colors. In addition to the new models, Acoustics First markets a full line of acoustical foams, wall fabrics, Fiberglas panels and barriers.

ACOUSTICS FIRST CORP. PRODUCTS
June 2001—Acoustics First offers a full line of sound solutions, including the Art Diffuser, Sound Cylinder, Composite Foam, Double-Duty Diffuser and Cutting Wedge. The patented Art Diffuser ($79 for a painted, 15-inch square by 91⁄2-inch-deep version) comes in a variety of 2-D, binary array designs to offer one, four and five-octave diffusion. The Sound Cylinder ($160, two per box) is a freestanding, stand-mounted absorber with a rolling pattern surface that can be used in multiples to form a temporary vocal booth or mixing area. Composite Foam (from $25 to $55 per piece) can be used to reduce machinery noise and to quiet the noise leaking through open filler panels in equipment racks. Available with Tuftane or heat-reflecting Mylar surfaces, this line of foam/barrier combinations is also available with an aluminized Mylar facing. The Double-Duty Diffuser Bass Trap (from $160 to $410) is available in a number of sizes, thicknesses, finishes and linings to scatter sound anywhere low-frequency absorption is a must, particularly across corners. Cutting Wedge acoustical foam ($208 for a 1x1-foot, 2-inch-thick sheet) provides the absorption of traditional polyurethane in standard 2, 3 and 4-inch thicknesses.

ACOUSTICS FIRST CORP. BASSERASER
October 2000—The BassEraser designers employed state-of-the-art particle propagation theory algorithms to evolve a truly new bass trap design. For typical applications, the standard broadband insert will solve most low-frequency problems. For correction of low-frequency anomalies, the BassEraser can be configured to create a tuned diaphragmatic bass trap. Stackable, trapezoidal enclosure mounts vertically or horizontally. Visible face cover is available in 48 Guilford of Maine FR701 colors.
