PRIMACOUSTIC POLYFUSERS

PRIMACOUSTIC RAZORBLADE VERSION 2 QUADRATIC DIFFUSER
October 2003—Primacoustic's award-winning RazorBlade Quadratic Diffuser has been improved with a new heavy-duty, high-gloss finish and laminated outer shell for enhanced durability and consistent performance. October 2003—Z-Foam anechoic wedge acoustical panels are fire-rated to the tough California C-117 specification. These panels are ideal for use in home theater and home studio situations.
PRIMACOUSTIC STUDIO SYSTEMS
June 2002—Primacoustic, a division of CableTek, offers more than a dozen all-in-one soundproofing packages for existing rooms. Complete rooms can be treated with the London Studios, New York Voice-Over Booths, Rio Video Suites and Montreal Studios “Prima-kits,” which start at just $200. Good for soundproofing a 14x10-foot desktop production room with a live drum kit, London-14 ($600) is a 19-piece solution that features the company's Europa-63 Flutter Walls for reducing slap echo and standing waves, a pair of Orientique-33 Washboards to dissipate primary reflections, four Australis Corner Traps for controlling the low end in each corner and numerous Scandia-74 Scatter Blocks for soft diffusion. Systems can be customized with other products such as the new Razorblade Quadratic Diffusers.
PRIMACOUSTIC RAZORBLADE
June 2002—At NSCA, Primacoustic debuted the Razorblade™ (pictured) Quadratic Diffusor ($259 list), a 2x4-foot, 8-inch-deep, semi-random quadratic-diffusion panel made of MDF to reduce standing waves and flutter echo down to 350 Hz. For a fraction of the cost of high-end hardwood diffusors, effective control of reflections from the “receive” wall can be achieved in venues where this type of solution may have been thought to be too expensive. Razorblade offers a practical recording studio solution for backwall reflections.
PRIMACOUSTIC PANELS
May 2002—Primacoustic, the acoustical division of CableTek Electronics, offers Freeport™, a highly effective absorbent acoustical panel designed for temporary or low-cost acoustical correction. This sturdy, lightweight portable system features Primafoam™ high-density, open-cell, fire-retardant acoustical foam for maximum absorbency. Each Freeport panel section measures 24x48 inches (WxH), and is height-adjustable from 5 to 6 feet high.
PRIMACOUSTIC FREEPORT
March 2002—The $149 Freeport (left) is a 24x48-inch acoustic absorber of high-density Primafoam mounted on a height-adjustable, free-standing frame. Freeports may be positioned to correct sonic problems in temporary control rooms or as acoustical gobos in studios.
PRIMACOUSTIC QUADRATIC DIFFUSER
April 2002—Primacoustic intros the RazorBlade broadband quadratic diffuser. Effective from 350 to 10k Hz, RazorBlade features 16 wells of solid MDF construction for maximum density and deflection at all frequencies. All slats feature “dado, dowel and glue” construction to eliminate rattle and self-noise. RazorBlade is 24x48x8 inches (WxHxD).
PRIMACOUSTIC ACOUSTICAL MATERIALS
June 2001—Primacoustic offers a variety of acoustical materials, including diffusers, absorption panels and bass traps, as single items or entire studio room treatment systems. The Primacoustic line of broadband acoustical products are easy to install, affordable and offer the look and performance of an architectually designed studio. The system is based on a modular concept that combines different acoustical absorbers to resolve the four common problems in all square rooms: The Europa Flutter Wall controls front-to-back flutter and works with the Scandia Scatter Blocks to reduce standing waves; the Orientique Washboards reduce side wash and powerful primary reflections; and the Australis Bass Trap is a corner wedge that tightens bass and brings balance back into your room. More than a dozen standard studio room packages are offered, ranging from a $215 6x4-foot voice-over booth treatment to 12x16-foot studios in the $875 range. Prices even include glue, and panels are also sold individually allowing users to customize their designs.
